Dr. Sarah-Taïssir Bencharif is a physician and freelance health reporter. She practices emergency medicine primarily in rural and remote parts of Canada. As a journalist and writer, her work has appeared in Politico Europe, The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star,The Walrus, and on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), amongst other places. She writes about medicine, healthcare, and reflections on identity.
Sarah-Taïssir loves to travel and is fluent in Arabic, French, English, and has a beginner-intermediate grasp of Spanish. She is a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Master of Journalism and completed her medical training at Queen’s University, McGill University, and the University of Ottawa.
